What is Maple Weekend?
The Ontario Maple Syrup Producers’ Association will be hosting the sixth Annual Maple Weekend on April 4 ~ 5, 2020 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Participants in Maple Weekend can be found across the province in a number of maple syrup producing areas.
Maple weekend gives you a first-hand opportunity to see how maple products are produced, from tree to table, along with the chance to taste and purchase quality maple products.
Join the fun at a local sugar house. Sugar makers are inviting you to share in the centuries-old craft of maple sugaring. Come and talk to the producers in your local area. They will be happy to share with you how their operation works.
Many will be offering free samples of fresh syrup, as well as maple candies and confections. Come enjoy pancake breakfasts, sugarbush trails, sugar making demonstrations, taffy on snow, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and more. Each producer has a unique list of activities and experiences in store for you. Check out each producer’s listing to see what specific activities they are offering on Maple Weekend. Experience the traditional maple sugaring craft and taste why pure Ontario maple syrup has long been a favourite springtime treat. Share in the fun of the sweetest time of the year.
Ontario maple syrup producers have a reputation for producing some of the best syrup in the world. During Maple Weekend our maple producers will demonstrate how maple syrup is made – whether it’s simply boiling the sap in a cauldron over an open fire, or processing it through high-tech RO systems and modern fuel efficient evaporators – the results always taste great!
