Bata Maples Sugarbush is located on 75 acres just north of the 401 near the village of Batawa.
I started dabbling in making syrup in 1971 but it become more than a hobby in 2008. In the spring of 2017 we underwent a major expansion to increase our taps to 1200. A new sugar shack was built, and new pipeline was installed to accommodate the addition taps. With the addition of a parking lot we are now able to be open to the public during the boiling season. We offer tours for school groups as well as for families and individuals.
Come and see how syrup is made the old-fashioned way on a wood fired evaporator. There’s nothing like the smell of boiling sap in the sugarhouse to welcome the spring season!
