Maple syrup has been produced from the sugar bush at Fortune Farms for well over 100 years and has been owned and operated by the Fortune Family since 1972. From pioneer to modern, we do it all! The Kettle Boys make syrup over open fires in iron kettles while they entertain with toys and tales. The Shanty Men make syrup in a traditional wood fired evapourator and they explain the process while you watch the sap boil. Our modern, high efficiency evapourator REALLY pours out the syrup and its fun to watch it stream from the pans as you enjoy the aroma of sweet maple steam!
Our forests are carefully managed and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. You can learn all about the forest as you walk around our interpretive trails. You will see that our woods are unique, diverse and feature old growth white pine and sugar maple, some over 400 years old! You can also visit our maple plantation or “orchard” which we established in the early 1990s and is now producing maple sap. It’s one of a kind!
From tree to treat, you can relax and enjoy a visit to Fortune Farms. Home of the friendly maple experience. Open daily throughout maple season from 10 to 5.
