Amidst the maple trees at 3788 County Road 8 lies Grampie’s Sugar Shack. Established in 2010, proprietors Oswald and Debbie Linton began their new adventure. As a child, Oswald assisted his father Richard in making maple syrup on their family farm. This was a hobby that Oswald desired to continue on his own property. For the past 6 years, Oswald has been able to carry on the family tradition of gathering and boiling sap. It began with building his very own sugar shack and setting up the equipment. Grampie’s Sugar Shack has become a 600 tap, family run operation, which uses a wood-fired evaporator to produce excellent quality pure maple syrup. During the busy maple syrup season, Oswald and Debbie receive support from other family members, including their children and grandchildren, to help with the workload and to keep the tradition alive. Oswald takes pride in producing high quality syrup and maple products alongside his family.
