The Ellsmere family has been making Maple Syrup since the early 1840’s, and has produced syrup on the current farm since 1913. Our sugar bush runs from the last week of February to mid April, creating an experience that will last a lifetime.
Our Sugar Bush produces syrup in an old time fashion with taps and buckets. 1000 trees are tapped with spiels and buckets. We boil our sap with a modern stainless steel evaporator that runs on fire wood collected before the season starts.
Walk through our 25 acres of sugar bush to see how the maple syrup process begins, making your way through beautiful trails that lead to our sugar house. There you can walk through and see the process of making maple syrup, maple candy and maple butter.
